Derek Anderson's tirade. Was the reporter crossing the line?

If that reporter had half a brain, he knew that Anderson obviously wasn't laughing about the performance of his team last night. That's what I hate about reporters: they ask the stupidest questions that they know either A) won't be answered directly, or B) tries to kick a man when he's down. What's worse, he persisted with the same question when Anderson started to get hot. I could think of a thousand questions I'd rather ask him than "oh, what were you laughing about".
