Pre conditional checks within the NHS.?

I was offered a position within the NHS in October and was advised of pre employment checks. My crb came back ok but they contacted me in November to say the project had been delayed until New Year and they would contact me back. Im beginning to wonder whether the position is still open and if anyone else had experience of delays?
