What spring to put in a bsa supersport (22.)?

I have a bsa supersport wich i brought of my mate for �10 it works really well and looks brand new except from a few scratches on the wood work. but he said it needed a new spring ( even though it seems to work fine) if i were to purchase a new spring wich one should it be?
