XBOX LIVE NOT CONNECTING?

i cant seem to connect to xbox live. when i test connection it tells me that the xbox->network connection is fine. Network-> Internet is fine but internet -> Xbox live is not ok. its says to change my MTU, but my MTU is well above the limit it needs. whats going on?? is there in update in progress by any chance?
