Question about the medication Risperdal?

In 1996, when I was 16, I was prescribed a medication called Risperdal, for depression and anxiety. I took it until 1999. During my time of the medication I gained 70lbs. Once I stopped taking the meds I lost all of the weight. I am 27 now and I have been diagnosed with a bi-polar disorder. I take a medication now, that helps a lot and I live a virtually normal life. The only problem is that I have always felt that the Risperdal caused more problems than it was worth. For example, I became hypoglycemic (not too extreme), and my hallucinations, anger, and depression seemed to accelerate shortly after I stopped taking the medication. I have no clue if there is a link to the medication. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Risperdal? I hated that drug!
