I would like to learn some programming.?

Is there any software that I can download free, I want to try to learn how to write simple programs. Also does anyone know of a program to write programs for a CNC turret, I use Amada's at work and i am getting tired of having to write my own programs because the programmers upstairs aren't at work at night.
